GENTAFIX 1 and GENTAFIX 3 are radio-opaque sterile surgical cements. They are self-polymerising and enable orthopaedic implants to be fixed to the bone They contain an antibiotic from the aminosides family: gentamicine.
GENTAFIX 1: standard viscosity cement for manual application
GENTAFIX 3:low viscosity cement whose optimal fluidity enables it to be applied by syringe or by gun.
GENTAFIX 1and GENTAFIX 3 cements are recommended for:
· Operations in patients subject to risk of infection. · Repeat operations for sepsis. · Revisions to anterior arthroplasty
These products comply with ISO 5833 standard
Mechanical properties broadly superior to those for ISO 5833 standard.
The basic amount of gentamicine contained in these cements has been optimised in order to ensure prolonged release over time, thereby enabling post-operative infections to be prevented.
