Bioresorbable interference screw

EUROSCREW is a bioresorbable interference screw for reconstructing crossed ligaments. The screw’s design is also very suitable for bone-tendon-bone or soft tissue type grafts.

Interference

     Conically shaped at the end of the screw for ease of insertion. No prior shaping
     required in the majority of cases encountered.
     Rounded threads on the screw’s body:

                                                     - No shearing of the graft
                                                      - Deep, for optimum interference.

Two versions

The femoral screws have a hemispherical head, which limits the risks of the graft shearing at the femoral glene. The tibial screws have a flat head enabling them to be screwed deeply into the tibial tunnel.

Resorbability

EUROSCREW is composed 100% of poly (70/30 ;L/DL) lactic acid. This polymer breaks down through hydrolysis to form lactic acid, eliminated by the Kreps cycle. The products created by the breakdown of this polymer have been reported as causing virtually no inflammatory reaction. Losses in mechanical properties are observed after six months, which ensures the graft forms scars. No trace of the screw could be detected after 24 months.
