Biomimetic cement for vertebroplasty

Indications

SPINE FIX is a ready-to-use acrylic osseous cement of the self-hardening type with a high percentage of  radio-opacifier for percutaneous vertebroplasty. It provides excellent stabilisation of the body of vertebrae as well as an immediate antalgic effect.

SPINE-FIX cement is particularly indicated for:

   · Osteoporotic compaction.

   · Symptomatic vertebral angiomas.

   · Symptomatic tumours and vertebral metastases.

The application time for this ready-to-use cement has been specially designed to provide the surgeon with a long application time, thereby ensuring perfect control of the filling operation. This consequently reduces the risk of any complications.

Application phases at an ambient temperature of 20°C

    1)   0 to 45 seconds: Mixing
    2)   45 seconds to 2 minutes: Filling the injector
    3)   2 to 4 minutes: Leaving the mixture to rest
    4)   4 to 12 minutes: Injection phase
    5)   12 to 20 minutes: Hardening

An ideal radio-opacifier for vertebroplasty

The high opacifier (barium sulphate) and hydroxyapatite concentrations enables the filling of the body of vertebrae to be viewed quite easily. The flow of the cement is perfectly controlled during injection, reducing any risk of complications.

Adapted viscosity

Its specially adapted viscosity enables it to be injected very easily using either a Gauge 10/11 or a Gauge 15 trocar.

Easier to use

SPINE-FIX is ready-to-use without having to add opacifier.

It can be mixed very easily in just 45 seconds.

Better biological behaviour

SPINE-FIX cement, with 10% hydroxyapatite, an element well-known for its osteo-conductive properties, possesses better biocompatibility than traditional cements. The hydroxyapatite particles on the surface of the cement improve the response from the osteoblasts, consequently reducing inflammatory reactions.

Storage

SPINE-FIX must be stored unopened, in its original packaging, in a dry, clean environment, away from light and at a temperature below 25°C.
