Project Description
ORTHOCEM® 1
PMMA acrylic cement
ORTHOCEM® 1 is a bone cement for securing prostheses to the bone during surgery following a trauma or other infections, as well as during revision surgery for previous arthroplasties.
ORTHOCEM® 1 has a standard viscosity, sets rapidly, is self-hardening, minimises setting time and it can be applied manually.
ADVANTAGES
- Low monomer leaching
- Low exothermic release
- Easy to handle
- High viscosity
- Ease of use
- Reduced bone necrosis
- Long application time
ORTHOCEM® 1 cement is a bone cement for orthopaedic application indicated in the following cases:
rheumatoid polyarthritis, arthrosis, traumatic arthritis, osteoporosis, avascular necrosis, collagenosis, significant articular destruction following a trauma or other infections, as well as during revision surgery for previous arthroplasties.
Polymerisation temperature
The maximum temperature of 70°C reached during polymerisation of CEMFIX 1 cement is well below the requirements of standard ISO 5833, so reducing the risks of bone necrosis.
Mechanical properties
The mechanical properties of CEMFIX 1 cement are significantly better than the requirements of standard ISO 5833 in flexion, compression and intrusion.
