Project Description
GENTAFIX® 3MV
Medium Viscosity Surgical Bone Cement with antibiotic
GENTAFIX® 3 MV is a medium viscosity radiopaque bone cement specially designed for last cementation techniques.
These PMMA bone cements contain barium sulfate as a radiopaque agent and are suitable for vacuum mixing.
The brand name of the product may vary depending on the geographical area.
ADVANTAGES
- Mechanical properties above ISO 5833 standard
- Low exothermicity in situ
- Low release of monomer
- Stable fixation of implants
- Adapted viscosity for a long application time
- Perfectly suitable for vacuum mixing
- Rapid and long term release of gentamicin to cure or prevent infections
Bone cements with gentamicine are intended for the fixation of prosthetic components into bone medullar cavity in arthroplasty procedures.
GENTAFIX® 3MV bone cements allow local antibiotherapy.
Gentamicin, issued from family of aminosides, has a broad spectrum and is effective against most of the bacteria encountered.
The quantity of gentamicin contained in one dose of cement has been optimized to guarantee a long term release to cure or prevent infections.
